I initially intended to call this blog post “You Guys Rock” but I was worried that it might be mistaken for a comment about last week’s Xchange. I’m sure a lot of smarter people will blog about what we all discussed together in San Francisco some days ago. It was fun indeed, Andy totally blew me away – was I the only one? -, and I regret not having put any Bvlgari soap in my bags…
And to be quite honest, the “you people rock” quote is actually attributable to Jim Sterne’s eMetrics summits so, I went for something else.
The message is directed towards those great guys & gals that make out OX2’s Web Analytics European Dreamteam who, after 3 months of absence -well, only physically as I’ve been quite a pain by mail apparently-, have been surprising me ever since I came back to … official active duty.
So, I wanted to say a big “THANK YOU” to Dave, Florence, Guillaume, Julien & Mehdi (this is alphabetical order guys so don’t see any hidden meaning in this) and of course René for covering for me during the few days that I had my mind on something else.
See photo of this article.
Luca is almost 4 months, 7 kg. A blessing! And the main reason why I haven’t been blogging lately, sorry.
It doesn’t however mean I don’t have anything more to say (believe me, I’ve been biting my tongue) but I wanted to make sure to get the basics right of being a Mum for the first time.
In any case, this is not about me. This is about those people I have a privilege to work with.
You Guys Rock because you’ve been bombarding me with new ideas and suggestions in order to move forward while indicating your own strengths & weaknesses so as to reinforce the team in a timely manner.
You Guys Rock because you are all accountable for your own actions, never shying away from responsibility and keeping an open mind on where we all have to go, while testing out new products & methodologies.
You Guys Rock because you’re spreading the seeds of measurement and accountability through the Interactive Agency that acquired us, LBi, strengthening this acquisition through a 2-way dialogue.
You guys (& gal) give a true meaning to the fact that a team can make up for more than the sum of its parts.
It’s a privilege to work with you and to bounce off ideas between ourselves, comparing products, Web Analytics but also more qualitative stuff, Social media, data integrations, and what not in order to serve our clients even better, helping them in their Web (& Customer) Analytics journey.
This brings me to some other fabulous people who have been supporting us, open to bouncing ideas off, such as Eric Peterson & Jim Sterne but also so many more people that I wouldn’t know where to begin. A big THANK YOU to you all!
And then, last but not least, to those who have trusted us their business.
Without you, our clients, challenging us on a daily basis, this would not be possible. So please, continue pushing our boundaries as evolution is only possible through long term win-win collaborations!
A special thought & thank you to the person that mentioned in her mail last week “I’m looking forward to working with OX2 again”. I hope all is well!
So then, in the aftermath of the Olympic Games, as China gives way to London (calling) and I’m getting a hang at being a workaholic mum, we as a Brussels-based team stand here, ready to pursue the Web & Customer Analytics journey on a pan-European level in order to guard accountability in the light of efficient use of the online channel.
Thank you all. Luca’s happy, so are his proud parents, let’s get back to work now!
Aurélie & René

Wait – I’m confused.
You create a consulting team of highly intelligent people, show them the way to help companies all over the world, create meaningful, valuable methodologies, contribute enormously to the community through your blog, lend your wisdom and moral support to events like X Change and the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit, created the world’s more adorable web analyst and *you* are thanking *us*? I can only assume that you are still suffering from jetlag. It is we who thank you!
